What is Minetest?

Minetest is a free and opensource game engine. But it’s also a game. In the website of minetest we can see this discribtion:

An open source voxel game engine. Play one of our many games, mod a game to your liking, make your own game, or play on a multiplayer server. Available for Windows, macOS, GNU/Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, DragonFly BSD, and Android.

Why Minetest?

So we can say Minetest is also a cross platform game engine and game. Is not it attractive?

Let’s Continue. In this post i want to talk about Minetest game(not game engine and game making). Minetest is a Sandbox game like Minecraft. but its better and free!

You can make your favorite House, upgrade your tools and survive. you can make your desired minetest! how? with modes. Minetest game a free database for mods. Installing mods in Minetest is easier than you think.

Minetest is very Lightweight. It’s just about 30 or 40 MG! i was a Minecraft player in the past but when i met Minetest, i left Minecraft. Minetest have many online and free servers! so you can easily play Minetest with your friends.

How to install

Install minetest is easy. If you have a debian base distro or debian:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install minetest

Arch bases:

sudo pacman -S minetest

Play with me

Sometimes i play Minetest in Pandorabox server. You can create a new account in this server and play. this server have a very good document for biggners. if you want to play with me in this server you can email me and coordinate with me. It’s my email.
